Personal Development
PSHE lessons equip pupils with the practical life skills, emotional understanding and self‑advocacy they need to thrive within school and beyond. Through carefully scaffolded learning about feelings, routines, safety, self‑care and the wider world, pupils build confidence in expressing preferences, managing daily challenges and making informed choices. This subject supports holistic wellbeing, nurtures independence and plays a crucial role in preparing our young people for adulthood and active participation in their communities.
Life Skills lessons play a vital role in preparing our pupils for everyday life. These sessions focus on teaching the practical, meaningful skills that young people need to confidently and independently access the world around them. Pupils learn essential areas such as managing finances, developing personal independence, making safe and informed choices, and building confidence in daily tasks like cooking and household routines. Through hands‑on, relevant learning experiences, our Life Skills curriculum empowers pupils to become more independent, capable, and prepared for their future—both within school and beyond.
