SCHOOL UNIFORM

From September 2022 the FLAME became our new school logo. We adopted a rainbow of colours and students can choose jumpers of any colour, in the styles outlined below. They must be plain or with the FLAME logo.

• Polo shirt - white
• Trousers, skirt, jogging bottoms or dress - grey or black
• Round neck sweater (FLAME branded or plain) – navy blue, royal blue, bright royal blue, burgundy, claret, bottle green, jade green, purple, red, emerald green
• Knitted cardigan (FLAME branded or plain)  – navy blue, royal blue, bright royal blue, burgundy, bottle green, purple, red
• Hoodie (FLAME branded or plain) – bottle green, orange, black, pink, heather grey, purple, charcoal, hot pink, jade, Kelly green, military green, maroon, red, navy, royal blue, sky blue, yellow, olive green, sapphire blue, purple
• Zipped hoodie (FLAME branded or plain) – bottle green, black, charcoal, heather grey, navy, olive, red, royal blue, sky blue, yellow
• Traditional head wear associated with learners’ own religious practices
• Optional shorts in summer – grey or black
• Optional check dress in summer – any colour
• Sun hat for the summer
• Suitable coat for the weather
• Sensible, plain, safe shoes/trainers – black

PE kit

• T shirt of your child’s house colour (red, blue, yellow or green), plain or with flame logo – please wait to be informed by the PE department which house your child is in before purchasing a PE t-shirt
• Black shorts and/or tracksuit bottoms
• White sports socks
• Suitable trainers or plimsolls

Swim Kit

• One piece swimming costume or shorts/trunks above the knee
• Large towel (two towels if changed on a bench/bed) plastics if needed
• Swim nappies (where required)
• Swimming hat (we can provide these)
• Swimming goggles (junior moulded)

Students should come to school in PE kits on days they have PE lessons.

Hair, Jewellery and accessories

• Hair – Long hair must be tied back for specified activities, for health and safety reasons (for example PE, food technology and science)
• Jewellery - No jewellery should be worn to school except for: one pair of stud earrings (no multiple studs), a single small religious symbol will be permitted and respected, a medical alert bracelet and a small plain watch.
• Watches – to be analogue or digital.  Smart watches may be worn but must be on airplane mode

Other items

• Children need a coat for school, school bag, and in the summer need a sunhat and sun cream – all to be provided from home and named.
• Other branded items available:
  • Drawstring bag; rucksack; water bottle and holder; legionnaire cap; baseball cap;

FE uniform

Students in FE are allowed their own choice of ‘smart casual’ clothing within school and when representing the school at different venues. Students can wear trousers, shorts, skirts or dresses of a suitable length. Jeans may be worn but must not be stained, torn or ‘distressed’.  There should not be inappropriate logos or language on clothing and low cut t-shirts, blouses and transparent clothing should be avoided. Sensible, plain, safe shoes/trainers should be worn. Certain activities may require students to wear protective footwear.

Students are welcome to continue to wear the range of FLAME sweaters, cardigans and hoodies that are available.
