Safeguarding
At Marjorie McClure School we take Safeguarding and Child Protection very seriously.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
Child protection is part of this definition and refers to activities undertaken to prevent children suffering, or being likely to suffer, significant harm.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and it is the duty of all staff to ensure they are looking out for our students and vigilant of any concerns.
At Marjorie, we have a strong team of Designated Safeguarding Leads who ensure that Safeguarding and Child Protection is robust across school. The DSL team is led by Mrs Cottage and Mrs Jasmine.
