Curriculum Pathways
Throughout the school, pupils are supported through one of four curriculum pathways, matched carefully to their developmental stage and age. All children joining us in Reception begin within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), where the Early Learning Goals, outcomes from EHCPs and individual interests shape a highly personalised curriculum.
As pupils move into Key Stage 1 (KS1), they transition to either the Sensory Pathway or the Practical Pathway, depending on the approach that best meets their learning needs. Most pupils continue within their chosen pathway from KS1 through to KS4, with progress closely monitored to ensure the curriculum remains the right fit. Where beneficial, we support pupils to move between pathways so that their provision always reflects their needs and aspirations.
At the end of Year 11, pupils transition into our Further Education (FE) Pathway, where they continue their learning journey until the end of Year 14, focusing on independence, personal development and preparation for adulthood.
