Curriculum
Our Further Curriculum is delivered to all pupils in years 12 to 14. Curriculum coverage is personalised to each young person and linked to opportunities to develop independence, work related skills and a range of qualifications. Learning opportunities are linked to EHCP outcomes and help pupils and their families to plan for the future. All learners are prepared for their next steps through regular college visits, a range of off-site learning opportunities, and a broad curriculum that engages and excites our pupils for the future. Staff focus on developing independence, in order to prepare our eldest students for the next steps of their journey as they leave our school and branch out into the wider world.
Accreditation
There is a range of accreditations on offer, these focus on the core skills of English and maths in many forms, at a range of levels, to enable as many students as possible to gain a formal qualification. The accreditation system is highly flexible and allows students to move through them at a ‘stage not age’ basis. This means that some students have more time to develop and demonstrate skills, knowledge and understanding leading to a meaningful qualification. The accreditation offer needs to consistently be reflective of the changing needs of the cohort and demonstrated through the selection of each student’s accreditation pathway.
